86th Legislative Session

During Representative Ramos’ first session as your HD 102 State Representative, the Texas legislature was able to overhaul massive education finance reform — something that hadn't happened in decades. Our legislature fought for and supported legislation (50% bi-partisan bills) addressing critical issues including family law, public safety, healthcare, and domestic violence. We also fought to strengthen local control for cities, counties, and local police departments, increased funding for veteran courts, and reduced the property tax burden on homeowners.

• HB 3- Increases education spending, including long overdue pay raises for educators.

• HB 1- Dedicates millions for special education programs.

• HB 111- Requires child abuse recognition training for teachers.

• HB 403- Requires human trafficking recognition training for administrators.
